Appalachian Sustainable Development’s “Ask an Agroforester” Webinar Series is an opportunity for us to come together for a deep dive into detailed information about specific Agroforestry topics. Host Emilie Tweardy stewards deep conversations on emerging topics and perennial favorites. Bring your questions for our regional Agroforestry heroes, and have an opportunity to get real answers from real professionals. We’ve got a great lineup put together for you, free of charge. Please consider making a donation to ASD to support continued free programming like this!
These events are online only. Webinar links will be emailed to registrants the week before the event, with reminders the day before. Registration for each webinar closes at 10AM the previous day. All webinars will be recorded and posted to ASD’s Youtube channel for your viewing convenience.
Each webinar will consist of a welcome and intro from ASD and a short presentation from the presenter, followed by a 2-part Q and A. The first half will consist of questions collected ahead of time, the 2nd half of the Q and A will be live audience questions.
Zach Elfers is a tree crops enthusiast and lifelong student of nature. He operates a small nursery, Future Forest Plants, where he lives in southern York county Pennsylvania. He seeks opportunities to explore, research, and sometimes even has a little time to write in relation to topics such as ethnobotany, agroecology, and Native American land management and the legacy and persistence of indigenous landscapes. The hickories, persimmons, and honey locusts have featured mainly in his tree crop exploration, selection, and breeding endeavors.
